Gita Jayanti: Advent of Bhagvad Gita The Gita Jayanti, or the birthday of the Bhagavad Gita, is celebrated throughout India and other parts of the world by all the admirers and lovers of this most sacred scripture on the eleventh day (Ekadashi) of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the month of Margaseersha (December-January), according to the Hindu almanac.
Pooja Kalasha Kalasha, also spelled as Kalash (Sanskrit: कलश, kalaśa; literally "pitcher, pot"), is a metal (brass, copper, silver or gold) pot with a large base and small mouth, large enough to hold a coconut. Sometimes "Kalasha" also refers to such a pot filled with water and topped with a coronet of mango leaves and a coconut. This combination is often used in Hindu rites and depicted in Hindu iconography.
Importance of Arati Before electrical lighting was introduced, an aarti would be waved in front of a Murti so every part of the Lord murti could be seen. The aarti is done by in a circular motion moving it in the clockwise direction, highlighting the five kamars (lotus flowers) of the Lord’s Murti;
Vedic Homa Homa (also known as homam or havan) is a Sanskrit word which refers to any ritual in which making offerings into a consecrated fire is the primary action.  The words homa/homam and havan are interchangeable with the word Yagna. Homas are an important religious practise in Hinduism, where they part of most of the Sanskar ceremonies.
